Yoshi Ninohira has extensive work experience in engineering and management roles. Yoshi started their career at IBM Research, Tokyo Research Laboratory in 1978 as a Development Analyst, where they developed a mainframe-based Japanese text processing system. Yoshi then became a Researcher, specializing in developing a handprinted character recognition system. In 1985, they were promoted to Manager, Office Communication Systems, where they prototyped IBM's first working Pen Computer prototype and developed handwriting applications.
In 1990, Yoshi joined Solectron as a Manager, Test Technology Development and initiated functional test development services. Yoshi later became the Manager, Electric Design, where they designed various industrial, commercial, medical, and RF products, including embedded software. From 2001 to 2006, they served as the Principal Engineer and oversaw highly technical challenges in design, test, and manufacturing, coordinating teams across global organizations.
Since 2006, Yoshi has been working at Funai Corporation as the Sr. Director, Engineering, primarily focusing on US Cable related consumer products. Yoshi initiated, managed, designed, and built Tru2way STB systems, successfully demonstrated at major tradeshows.
Yoshi Ninohira obtained a Master's degree in Computer Science from The University of Electro-Communications, where they studied from 1976 to 1978.
