Michelle Deng is a Mechanical Engineer at Function Engineering, Inc., since June 2015, with prior experience as a Product Development Intern at Proteus Digital Health, Inc. During the internship, Michelle designed and tested dry electrode options for wearable products. Academic research at Stanford University focused on photosensitizers and cartilage repair, with findings presented at a BioX poster session. In collaboration with Audi and Aalto University, Michelle contributed to a project aimed at designing the car of 2025, which included innovative safety features. Additional experiences include teaching mechanical engineering to high school seniors at MIT, interning at GE Healthcare in process design, and conducting research on soil toxicity and biomechanics at MIT. Notably, a patent for an epidural needle invention was secured during an R&D internship at Boston Scientific. Michelle holds a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University and a Bachelor of Science degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
