Functional Features is an independent media production company dedicated to telling vibrant, human-centered stories through food, culture, and history. We develop and produce original lifestyle programming, documentary series, and digital content that explores the traditions, voices, and communities shaping the way we live today.

Our flagship series, Cookbook Junction, explores culinary history through iconic cookbooks, recreating historic recipes while uncovering the cultural stories behind them. In addition to current productions, Functional Features is actively developing new projects that highlight global traditions, performing arts, and untold narratives.

Founded by producer and host Silentia Slaboch, Functional Features focuses on creating engaging content for digital platforms, broadcast television, and streaming audiences.

Vibrant Voices. Unseen Stories.
