Fund for the Arts
Nubia Bennett currently serves as the Executive Assistant at the Fund for the Arts, coordinating communications and meetings for the Board of Directors while supporting the Leadership Team. Nubia has diverse experience across various roles, including bartender at Trouble Bar, host and creator with Louisville Public Media, and Leadership Development Manager at Leadership Louisville Center, where leadership programs for over 60 leaders were managed. Nubia coordinated Diversity Education at the University of Louisville and worked as a Youth Specialist in the Louisville Metro Government's Office for Safe and Healthy Neighborhoods. Previous positions include Student Success Coordinator at Spalding University, Clerical Assistant at Indiana University Southeast, and graduate internships at the University of Louisville. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Communication and two Master's degrees from the University of Louisville in Education and Higher Education Administration with a focus on Policy and Equity.

What We Do Fund for the Arts is a regional nonprofit committed to building a vibrant community through the power of the arts. With the help of nearly 20,000 donors, Fund for the Arts supports a range of arts organizations and drives accessibility across neighborhoods, schools, community center, senior care facilities, parks, libraries, and public spaces. We believe the arts fuel our regional economy, inspire student success, bring people together, and simply make Greater Louisville an amazing, unique community. World-Class Institutions Fund for the Arts strives to make Louisville a competitive 21st century city by bringing innovative programming, national acclaim, exciting performances and exhibitions in traditional and non-traditional spaces in our community. Educational Programs & Outreach Fund for the Arts leverages the Arts to engage students, inspire excellence and improve academic success both in the classroom and through transformative out of school opportunities. Our outreach spans after-school programs, summer camps, community centers, health and senior living centers. Collaborative Initiatives Fund for the Arts is a catalyst for innovation and collaboration in our community. By connecting diverse businesses and organizations, we leverage our thriving arts scene to address critical community initiatives and drive impact. Who We Support Fund for the Arts invests in collective impact and in a strong, sustainable thriving arts sector. We provide general operating support grants to 14 cultural partners, project-based matching fund support to numerous nonprofits, and arts-in-education grants to teachers and schools.
