Maria do Rosário Palha

Maria do Rosário Palha is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in sustainability and environmental governance. Currently serving as Senior Sustainability Manager at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation since October 2019, Maria promotes climate and ocean action initiatives and enhances the foundation's environmental footprint. As an Independent ESG & Sustainable Finance Consultant since February 2019, Maria advises a private equity firm on integrating ESG considerations into their operations. Previous roles include Stakeholder Management Consultant at Loyal Advisory, Advisor for Sustainability at BCSD Portugal, PR Specialist at Jeronimo Martins Dystrybucja, and an intern at the Permanent Mission of Portugal to the United Nations. Maria holds a Master's degree in Political Science with a focus on Global Environmental Governance from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and a Bachelor's degree in International Relations from Universidade Católica Portuguesa, complemented by an Erasmus programme in Italy.
