Marcos Frías Nestares is an Image Analyst and Computer Vision Researcher at the Fundació de Recerca Sant Joan de Déu, involved in confocal image acquisition within the Confocal Microscopy and Cellular Imaging Unit at Sant Joan de Deu Hospital since September 2022. Prior experience includes a Bachelor thesis at Vall d’Hebron Institute of Research, where design of a deep learning algorithm in Python (Keras) focused on detecting and segmenting optic nerve lesions in magnetic resonance images for multiple sclerosis patients. Additionally, an internship in the Digestive Diseases and Transplants unit involved developing automatic image processing techniques for identifying drainages and anastomoses in CT images post-pancreatic cancer surgery. Marcos holds a degree in Biomedical Engineering from Universitat Pompeu Fabra and has participated in the Erasmus+ Program at Università degli Studi di Padova, currently pursuing a Master's degree in Computer Vision at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
