Borja Izquierdo

Borja Izquierdo serves as the Technology and Digital Innovation Director and International Director at Fundación Española para la Ciencia y la Tecnología (FECYT) since January 2014. In this role, Borja leads the European Office, which promotes Spanish organizations' participation in the EU's R+D+I Framework Programme, particularly focusing on universities and public research institutions under Horizon 2020. Prior to FECYT, Borja held various roles at CDTI from January 2008 to January 2014, including Deputy General Director and Acting General Director, and served as the Spanish delegate at the Energy Programme Committee for FP7. Borja's career also includes experience as Head of GIS Energy and Environmental Unit, R&D Project Manager, and Software Developer at ATOS ORIGIN between December 2000 and 2008. Borja holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Sciences from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, completed in 2001.
