Fundación Kara Solar
“Kara” means "a vision realized" in Achuar. Our vision is to build solar-powered transportation and energy systems that reduce reliance on fossil fuels and give Indigenous communities the tools they need to defend their territories from road construction and deforestation. Since 2018, we have partnered with the Achuar people of the Ecuadorian Amazon to train Indigenous solar technicians, build clean energy autonomy, and help protect the rainforest that sustains us all. We are non-profit, Indigenous-led, and Ecuador-based.
