Dipanjan Chakraborty has extensive work experience in the field of geology. From September 2015 to February 2021, they worked at Vedanta Resources Plc as a Geologist. Their responsibilities included underground geological and geotechnical core logging, compilation and validation of drilling data, and geotechnical mapping. Dipanjan also contributed to site safety culture and programs. In addition, they worked as an Exploration Geologist at Maton Phosphate Mines from May 2017 to August 2017, where they conducted geological and geotechnical mapping and core drilling for pre-feasibility studies. In February 2021, Dipanjan joined Furagems as the Deputy Head Geology and Production, and in March 2022, they became the Head Geologist at Fura Gems Inc.
Dipanjan Chakraborty completed their schooling at New Andul H.C. School, where they studied Science. Dipanjan then pursued a Bachelor's degree in Geology from Calcutta University, Kolkata (Presidency College) from 2010 to 2013. Following that, Dipanjan pursued a Master's degree in Applied Geology from Presidency University from 2013 to 2015. Finally, they received training in Rock Mechanics, specifically in Hard rock mining, Tunnelling, and Soil, at the Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad, completing it in 2019.
