Wajahat Ali

Wajahat Ali, CPA, CBV, CFA has a diverse and extensive work experience in various finance and leadership roles. Wajahat is currently serving as the Chief Financial Officer at Further Ventures since 2022. Prior to that, Wajahat worked at ADQ as the CFO for their VC Fund/ Corporate Ventures, where they played a crucial role in establishing Further Ventures, a VC Fund and Corporate Venture Builder, and also managed several corporate ventures for the company.

Wajahat also worked as the Director of Mergers and Acquisitions at Numinus, where they led the company's M&A and growth strategy. Wajahat was responsible for overseeing all aspects of the M&A process, including origination, financial analysis, negotiations, due diligence, and transaction structuring.

Before that, Wajahat worked at Lifemark Health Group as the Director of Corporate Development / FP&A. Wajahat was instrumental in driving Lifemark's strategic and growth initiatives through corporate development and M&A activities. Wajahat also played a key role in preparing the business for exit during its acquisition by Loblaw.

Prior to their role at Lifemark, Wajahat worked at EY as the Manager of Strategy and Transactions, focusing on mid-market transactions and infrastructure advisory. Wajahat provided support to public and private clients throughout the infrastructure project life cycle, including project financing and public-private partnerships.

Wajahat also gained valuable experience at Mubadala, a UAE-based sovereign wealth fund and strategic investment company. During their time there, they held various roles, including Vice President of Finance, Alternative Investments and Infrastructure. Wajahat provided dedicated valuation and finance expertise to the company's Alternative Investments and Infrastructure platform.

Additionally, Wajahat worked at EY as an Assistant Manager in Transaction Advisory Services, where they prepared financial models for valuations, financing, budgeting, and strategic planning purposes. Wajahat also worked in EY's Business Risk Services as a Staff Auditor, conducting risk assessments and internal control evaluations for media & entertainment clients.

Early in their career, Wajahat gained software testing experience as an intern at Novell, where they assisted in improving system and network software. Wajahat also worked as a Course Production Specialist at Brigham Young University, where they created online courses for distance learning.

Wajahat completed their Master of Science (MS) in Business Analytics at NYU Stern School of Business, although the specific start and end years are unknown. Wajahat also participated in an Executive Education Program focused on Advanced Valuation and Firm Value Assessment at INSEAD. Furthermore, Ali obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Finance from Brigham Young University.
