Christel Smith

Christel Smith, PhD, MBA, currently serves as the Chief Technology Officer at Fuse Oncology, Inc., focusing on developing innovative oncology software solutions to enhance cancer treatment methodologies. Prior to this role, Christel held various leadership positions at Elekta, including Director of Product Management for Oncology Informatics Solutions, where responsibilities included managing a global flagship radiation oncology electronic medical record software solution. Christel's career also includes significant contributions to Varian Medical Systems, overseeing proton therapy products and solutions, and academic achievements as a postdoctoral fellow and adjunct professor at UC San Diego. With an educational background in astrophysics and particle physics, including a PhD from UC San Diego, Christel has a strong foundation in interdisciplinary research and financial strategy. Additionally, Christel is an accomplished artist and founder of Christel Smith ART.
