Roshan Shirantha

Chief Engineer at Fushifaru Maldives

Roshan Shirantha has over 25 years of work experience in various engineering roles. Roshan started their career in 1993 as a Technical Officer in the Sri Lanka Navy, where they gained 12 years of experience in maintaining and handling firefighting equipment and working with diesel engines. In 2006, they joined Metropolitan Engineering (Pvt) Ltd as a Senior Technician - Mechanical, responsible for ordering spare parts, performing repairs and overhauling, and installing and commissioning engines and generators. Roshan then worked as a Senior Mechanical Supervisor at Pneumatic(Pvt) Ltd from 2010 to 2011. From 2013 to 2018, they were an Engineering Executive at Sigiriya Village Hotels, where they managed the overall maintenance department, ordered maintenance items, and monitored water and sewerage treatment plants. Roshan is currently serving as the Chief Engineer at Fushifaru Maldives since 2018.

Roshan Shirantha's education history begins in 1989 when they attended Bandarawela Central College in Sri Lanka. Roshan completed their General Certificate of Education - Advanced Level in Mathematics from this institution in 1991.

In 1993, Roshan Shirantha enrolled in the Ministry of Shipping, Port Rehabilitation & Reconstruction and obtained an Engine Room Watch Keeping Proficiency Certificate (Above 750KW) in Mechanical Engineering. Roshan completed this program in 1998.

Additionally, in 1995, Roshan Shirantha attended the Naval & Maritime Academy in Trincomalee, Sri Lanka, where they pursued an Engine Room Artificer Course. This course focused on Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering and was completed in 1996.
