Charles Britt Cissp

Charles Britt, CISSP, CISM has a strong background in cybersecurity and education. Charles currently holds the position of Vice President for Cybersecurity Education at Fusion Cyber, where they have been working since February 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Director of Cybersecurity Education at the same company from June 2022 to February 2023.

Before their time at Fusion Cyber, Charles was the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer at Startfield starting from February 2021. Additionally, they worked as a Cyber Career Coach and Consultant at CyberJedi, LLC from February 2020.

Charles also has experience in the public sector, serving as a Cybersecurity Compliance Officer at the FDA from July 2018 to June 2022. In this role, they provided technical and policy guidance to ensure IT systems and applications were compliant with relevant security policies and laws.

Adding to their diverse background, they were the Coordinator for STEM Education Outreach at Northern Virginia Community College from April 2013 to June 2018. During this time, they played a major role in developing a regional college readiness and workforce development initiative, collaborating with tech giants, securing funding, and launching successful STEM programs.

Charles began their career at the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in November 2001, where they held the position of Information System Security Officer/Project Manager. Charles was responsible for project management activities and played a vital role in an IT modernization project for the Office of the Director.

Charles Britt, CISSP, CISM received their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Information Technology from Capitol Technology University, where they studied from 1996 to 2001. In January 2020, they obtained the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification from (ISC)². Additionally, in May 2022, they obtained the Certified Information Security Manager® (CISM) certification from ISACA. Charles also completed the Introduction to Cybersecurity course offered by Cisco in February 2022.
