Lucy Cowton has extensive experience in sustainability and research within the materials and chemicals sectors. Currently serving as Sustainability Manager and previously as Product & Sustainability Manager at Futamura since July 2016, Lucy Cowton focuses on sustainable cellulose films. Prior to this role, Lucy Cowton held the position of Product Sustainability Manager at Innovia Films from April 1999 to June 2016, contributing significantly to the development of NatureFlexTM films and engaging in life cycle assessments and certifications. Lucy Cowton's earlier positions include Research Chemist roles at Scotia Pharmaceuticals and Associated Octel, where responsibilities included managing pilot plants and conducting research in organometallic chemistry, as well as a CASE award student position at ICI Paints. Educational qualifications encompass a PhD in Organometallic Chemistry and an MSc from The University of Manchester, along with a BSc in Chemistry from the University of Nottingham.
