Chengkun Zhang has a strong background in engineering and robotics. Chengkun currently serves as the President of Futronics (NA) Corporation. Prior to this, they held multiple roles at UBTECH Robotics, including Senior Director of the Applied Technology Department, Director of the Hardware and Design Department at UBTECH North America R&D Center, and Principal Researcher. Before joining UBTECH Robotics, Zhang worked at GE Global Research as a Lead Engineer and Mechanical Engineer, leading various interdisciplinary projects in the development of manufacturing systems for commercial T-Cell therapies and designing biomedical devices. Chengkun also gained research experience at the University of Delaware as a Research Assistant, focusing on the design and fabrication of a passive transfemoral prosthetic leg, and served as a Teaching Assistant. Zhang's early experience includes research and teaching assistant roles at Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, where they worked on projects related to space manipulators and obstacle avoidance algorithms.
Chengkun Zhang completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and Automation from Jilin University from 2001 to 2005. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Detection Technology and Automatic Device from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, which they completed from 2005 to 2008. Chengkun then went on to enroll as a Ph.D. Candidate in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Delaware, where they studied from 2009 to 2013.
