Regulatory Affairs Lead at Future Fields

Nagalakshmi Kannuchamy, Ph.D., has a diverse range of work experience in fields related to regulatory affairs, food microbiology, and agricultural research. Nagalakshmi currently holds the position of Regulatory Affairs Lead at Future Fields, where they ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and submits applications and notifications to health authorities. Nagalakshmi also conducts meetings with stakeholders and contributes to the development of food safety standards for their products. Prior to this, Nagalakshmi worked as a Scientific Specialist in Food Microbiology at Bureau Veritas Group from July 2020 to June 2021. Nagalakshmi also served as a Graduate Research Fellow at the University of Alberta from August 2018 to July 2020, contributing to research and academic activities. Earlier in their career, Nagalakshmi held the position of Scientist (Agricultural Research Scientist - ARS) at ICAR- Indian Council of Agricultural Research from July 2017 to July 2018 and from December 2009 to June 2017.

Nagalakshmi Kannuchamy, Ph.D. has a comprehensive education history in the field of fisheries and food science. Nagalakshmi earned their Bachelor's degree in Fisheries Science from the Tamilnadu Veterinary & Animal Sciences University Fisheries College and Research Institute in 2006. Following this, from 2006 to 2008, they pursued a Master's degree in Fisheries Science, specializing in Post-Harvest Technology at the Central Institute of Fisheries Education. Nagalakshmi continued their academic journey at the same institution and obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Post Harvest Technology in the years 2008 to 2011.

In 2018, Nagalakshmi pursued further education and completed a Master of Science (MS) degree in Food Science and Technology at the University of Alberta from 2018 to 2020. Alongside their formal education, Nagalakshmi has also acquired additional certifications. Nagalakshmi completed a certification program in HACCP at the Central Institute of Fisheries Technology, and received training in Intellectual Property Rights from the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
