Bastiaan Sjardin

Bastiaan Sjardin serves as the Chief Technology Officer at Future Facts since January 2017, leading projects for prominent clients including APG, Menzis, Vattenfall, and KLM/Airfrance, focusing on areas such as large language models, MLOps, AI strategy, and big data transformations. Concurrently, Bastiaan holds roles as a Senior Data Scientist and Cloud Architect at PostNL, and has previously contributed as a Tech Lead and Architect in Big Data & AI at VGZ and Elsevier. With a background as the co-founder of Quandbee and experience in innovation and fintech at Rabobank, Bastiaan has also engaged in academic research as a Research Assistant at Leiden University. Educational credentials include a Master’s degree in Cognitive Sciences/Mathematics from Leiden University, alongside professional studies in Big Data from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Financial Management from Nyenrode Business University.
