Colin McGinty

Full Stack Developer at Futuri Media

Colin McGinty has a diverse work experience beginning with their role as a Teaching Assistant at Loyola University Chicago in 2012. Colin then worked as a Research Assistant at Kent State University from 2013 to 2016, during which time they developed processes for and characterized properties of Brilliant Yellow photoalignment films and refined existing methods for measuring azimuthal anchoring energy of liquid crystal photoalignment films. In 2016, they were a Research Intern at MIT Lincoln Laboratory, where they troubleshot and implemented improved processes for the fabrication of liquid crystal polarization gratings and characterized their performance in the near-infrared. From 2019 to 2022, they were a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory, where they developed and implemented processes for fabrication and characterization of liquid crystal polarization gratings. Most recently, they have been working as a Junior Developer at Futuri since 2022.

Colin McGinty completed their Bachelor of Science in Physics from Loyola University Chicago in 2013. Colin then went on to pursue their Doctor of Philosophy in Chemical Physics at Kent State University, which they completed in 2018. In 2022, they attended a Java Web Application Development Bootcamp at Tech Elevator.
