Mike Dobbins

As a member of RBC’s Group Executive, Mike sets the overall strategic direction of RBC and develops the organization’s overall strategic plan. Mike provides leadership for mergers and acquisitions and chairs RBC’s Innovation Council, which has responsibility for coordinating RBC’s Innovation Labs that are focused on advancing capabilities in data, security and client experience. Mike also serves as Chairman of RBC Bank US, and is a director of City National Bank.

Mike is the founder of RBC Ventures, which is focused on re-imagining the role RBC plays in the clients’ lives. RBC Ventures has developed and launched over 15 new businesses since 2018, acquired four businesses, and actively invests and develops partnerships to deliver differentiated value to the clients.

Prior to this position, Mike served as Executive Vice President of Personal Financing Products, RBC’s largest banking segment, and the U.S. banking strategy, within Personal and Commercial Banking.

Mike joined RBC in 2010 from Capital One in the U.S. where he served as Executive Vice President, Consumer Banking Segment. Mike also held executive positions with Charter One Bank and Citibank during his 25 year career. Mike is a graduate of the University of Delaware.
