A versatile architect with experience working on a wide range of project types including educational facilities, adaptive reuse, high-rise residential, and office building renovations, Mark collaborates directly with construction managers, owner representatives, design, and engineering consultants to ensure that each design is built according to the client and office's vision.
Experiencing the energy of New York City as a boy shaped Mark's view of architecture and city planning at a very young age. Fascinated by skyscrapers, he often wondered how these structures could stay up—and figuring out the answer to this question has become a lifelong pursuit. At the University of Buffalo, State University of New York, hands-on assignments such as building air-supported structures taught him that architecture is not an abstraction, but filled with problems to be solved with often more than one solution.
With over twelve years of construction administration experience on significant projects such as the restoration of New York City's Grand Central Terminal; the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts Redevelopment; and the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center Renovation + Expansion, Mark readily resolves field problems and maintains tight construction schedules to achieve design and cost efficiency. At every stage, he relishes opportunities to revisit what he learned in architecture school: discovering the optimal solution for each building he helps build.
