FynBus planlægger buskørsel for Region Syddanmark og de 9 kommuner på Fyn og Langeland.

Det er regionen og kommunerne, der ejer FynBus. Ejerne beslutter rammerne for, hvordan busserne skal køre. FynBus rådgiver ejerne om, hvordan buskørslen kan planlægges bedst muligt og laver køreplanerne.

Regionen og kommunerne bestiller de ruter de ønsker hos FynBus. Passagerindtægterne dækker kun en del af den samlede udgift, og den ejer, der har bestilt en rute, betaler resten af udgifterne.

Selve buskørslen sendes i udbud. Den entreprenør, der vinder et udbud, udfører kørslen med sine egne busser og chauffører.

FynBus er ledet af en bestyrelse, der består af repræsentanter for ejerne, dvs. Region Syddanmark og de 9 kommuner. Bestyrelsen bestemmer blandt andet, hvad passagerne skal betale for at køre med busserne.

Ud over buskørsel koordinerer FynBus også Flextrafik, som blandt andet omfatter kørsel for svært bevægelseshæmmede, elevkørsel, aktivitets- og genoptræningskørsel, lægekørsel mv.

This includes creating timetables, managing daily operations, ensuring service quality, and collaborating with contractors and stakeholders to optimize transportation solutions. They also handle the operational aspects of Flextrafik, which provides specialized transportation services.

The System Administration Team at FynBus is responsible for maintaining and managing the company's IT infrastructure. This includes ensuring the smooth operation of all internal systems, managing network security, performing regular updates and backups, troubleshooting technical issues, and supporting the IT needs of other departments to optimize the planning and coordination of bus and Flextrafik services.

System Administration Team

The Consulting and Coordination team at FynBus is responsible for advising regional and municipal owners on optimal bus scheduling and planning. They develop route plans based on orders from these stakeholders, ensuring efficient and effective public transportation services. The team also coordinates Flextrafik services, which include transportation for individuals with severe mobility issues, school transport, activity and rehabilitation transport, and medical appointments. Members include a leadership secretariat consultant, general consultants, an economics consultant, and a professional coordinator.

The Administrative and Support Services team at FynBus ensures the seamless execution of daily operations, facilitates internal communication, and provides essential support to various departments. Team members including 'Studiearbejder', 'Assistent', and 'Kontrollør' handle tasks such as managing schedules, coordinating logistics, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, thereby enabling efficient bus service planning and execution for Region Syddanmark and the 9 municipalities on Fyn and Langeland.
