Elizabeth Anne Smith, PhD MBA has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. Elizabeth Anne is currently serving as the Chief Business Officer at Fzata, Inc. since March 2021. Prior to this role, they owned and founded their own consulting company, SoMax Consulting LLC, from April 2013 to December 2022.

Elizabeth Anne has also held a position as the Executive Director Partnering & Strategy at ConverGene from August 2016 to December 2020. From July 2008 to March 2013, they worked as the Associate Director of Technology Search and Development at Celsion Corporation, a biotech company specializing in oncology.

Prior to that, they worked as a Scientist I at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory in 1991.

Elizabeth Anne Smith, PhD MBA, has an extensive education history. Elizabeth Anne obtained their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Chemistry from The College of Wooster between 1987 and 1991. Continuing their educational journey, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology at the University of Chicago from 1992 to 1999. To enhance their skills and broaden their knowledge in business, Elizabeth pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business from 2004 to 2006, specializing in XP-75. With a strong background in biochemistry and molecular biology, coupled with their expertise in business administration, Elizabeth is well-equipped for a diverse range of professional opportunities.
