Rodrigo Xavier

Board Member at Globo

With a three-decade career in the financial market, Rodrigo Xavier is the first independent director to be part of Grupo Globo's Board of Directors. Rodrigo was a senior partner at Banco Pactual, CEO at UBS Pactual bank, founding partner at Vinci Partners and CEO and Chairman of Bank of America Merrill Lynch in Brazil. He is currently a partner in two Venture Capital funds focused on Brazil and Silicon Valley and is also co-Chairman of HPX Corp, the first SPAC focused on Brazil listed on the New York Stock Exchange. Xavier holds a degree in Economics from the University of Brasília, a postgraduate degree in International Economics in Japan (Tohoku and Fukushima Universities) and an MBA from Thunderbird (Arizona State University). From 2018 to 2019, Xavier was a fellow at the Distinguished Career Institute (DCI) at Stanford University, where his studies and projects focused on new approaches to development policy through the interaction between innovation, technology and entrepreneurship.
