Gadfly Machines is a dialectical workshop where solo builders and small teams use the Socratic method—with each other and with AI—to make better decisions while building. We draw on a long dialectical tradition (Socratic dialogue, Aristotelian practical reasoning, medieval disputatio, Hegelian synthesis, etc.) and apply it to the work of building ventures. Through structured questioning, we examine assumptions, clarify aims, test ideas, and deliberate carefully and efficiently before deciding. Our proximate goal is to help people build well; our ultimate goal is to help people build for εὐδαιμονία—human flourishing.
