David Fjord Nielsen

David Fjord Nielsen is an experienced leader in public administration, currently serving as Director General at Gældsstyrelsen since June 2024. Prior roles include serving as Director at Skattestyrelsen from April 2021 to May 2024, and holding various positions within the Ministry of Environment and Food, where Nielsen was Deputy Permanent Secretary from September 2017 to August 2019. Nielsen has also worked in international capacities, including time as an expatriate in Geneva. With significant experience in financial and environmental sectors, Nielsen's background is complemented by a Master of Science in comparative politics from The London School of Economics and Political Science and a Cand.scient.pol in Political Science from the University of Copenhagen.
