Fred Mikulec has a diverse work experience spanning various companies and roles. Fred started their career as a Scientific Consultant at BioCrystal, Ltd in 1997. In 1999, they became a Scientific Consultant at Quantum Dot Corporation and concurrently worked as a Postdoctoral Associate at the University of California, San Diego. From 2002 to 2005, Fred served as a Research Scientist at Innovalight, Inc. and later joined The University of Texas at Austin as a Visiting Scientist in 2005. Fred then worked at Stion, assuming roles such as Senior Staff Scientist and Chemistry Group Leader from 2006 to 2016, and later as the Director of Process Development from 2016 to 2018. In 2018, they transitioned to becoming a Technical Consultant. Fred joined GAF Energy in 2019, first working as a New Product Introduction and later progressing to the role of New Product Deployment Manager starting in October 2020.
Fred Mikulec completed their education with an impressive background in the field of Chemistry. Fred started their academic journey at Oberlin College, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry and Mathematics from 1989 to 1993. During their time at Oberlin, Fred also undertook a summer internship in Inorganic Chemistry at Columbia University in 1992 through an NSF-REU program.
Building upon their undergraduate studies, Fred then attended the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) from 1993 to 1999. At MIT, they focused on Physical Chemistry and earned a PhD in the field. Fred dedicated several years to their doctoral research, furthering their knowledge and expertise in this specialized area of study.
