Mai Arnold

Head of Content Acquisitions at Gaia

Mai Arnold has over 30 years of experience in the television and cable industry. Mai began their career in 1984 as an Assistant Account Executive at Burson-Marsteller. In 1993, they moved to ABC Productions as a Manager of Business Affairs, where they negotiated above-the-line agreements for television series and movies-of-the-week. In 1995, they joined Starz Encore Group as a Manager of Business Affairs, where they supervised the maintenance of contractual obligations for over 12,000 pictures. In 1997, they were promoted to Director of Business Affairs at Starz Entertainment Group and negotiated and drafted major agreements. In 1999, Arnold became the Vice President and General Manager of Encore International, where they were responsible for Encore’s Beijing production offices and the acquisition, delivery, and production of Encore’s branded cable television block. In 2002, they founded Lone Tree Entertainment Consulting, a business affairs and program acquisition consultant specializing in the television and cable industry. In 2006, they served as a Consultant for New Business China at NBC Universal Global Networks. Since 2014, Arnold has been at Gaia, Inc., formerly Gaiam TV, as the Head of Content Acquisitions and Head of Business Affairs. In this role, they are responsible for sourcing, curating, and acquiring content for Gaia's network, as well as overseeing the curation of uplifting/transformative narrative films and shorts for Spiritual Cinema Circle.

Mai Arnold attended the University of Miami from 1978 to 1982, where they earned a Bachelor of Music in Musical Theatre.
