Russell Dobda has held various roles in the software engineering and music industries since 2006. In 2006, they were a Developer/Designer at VisionWeb, LP, where they worked as a systems analyst, designer, developer, and on deployments. Russell also created a process for database scripting updates and deployments, and developed several types applications including web applications, web services, windows services, and “smart-client” applications. In 2010, they were a Lead Developer at Bulldog Solutions, where they worked as a senior c# .net developer utilizing components such as DotNetNuke, LINQ to SQL, Entity Framework Modeling, Google Analytics API, Windows Communication Foundation, and SQL Server 2008. That same year, they were also a Musician at Dimitri’s Ascent, where they played pianos, synthesizers, organ, computer loops, singing, and saxophone in this actively touring band. In 2012, they founded Guided Meditation Treks, where they wrote and produced spoken word meditation albums and smartphone apps to teach listeners different meditation techniques. Russell also utilized binaural beats, solfeggio tones, 3D sound, and other sound healing modalities. In 2013, they were a Songwriter, Pianos, Synthesizers at Jamiroqueen, a Lead Cross-Platform Software Engineer at Synervoz Communications Inc., an Author, Writer, Teacher, Social Influencer at Spin the World Around, and a Partner, Booking Agent, Pioneer at Austin Silent Disco. In 2018, they were a Principal Software Engineer at Gaia Inc., where they helped build, then led the "Apps Engineering Team" overseeing the iOS, tvOS, Android, Roku, and Smart TV (LG, Samsumg, Vizio) engineers. Russell also guided patterns (mvvm, unit testing), practices (agile, git branching, progressive refactoring), built continuous integration from scratch (Jenkins, Groovy, Docker), and contributed to both front-end coding (Swift, Java, Kotlin, React/Redux, BrightScript) as well as back-end endpoints (node.js, PostgreSQL).
Russell Dobda holds a Bachelor of Science in Information Science from the University of Pittsburgh, which they obtained between 1995 and 1999. In 2016, they became a David Elliott Trained Breath Work Practitioner. In 2015, they obtained a 200 Hour Level Registered Yoga Teacher certification from Yoga Alliance. In 2006, they became a Sun Certified Java Developer from SUN SYSTEMS.
