Fiscal Projects Director at Gainesville Regional Utilities

Roberta Griffith has an extensive work experience spanning multiple high-level roles in various organizations. In their most recent position as the Fiscal Projects Director at Gainesville Regional Utilities since September 2022, they are responsible for managing financial projects.

Prior to that, from August 2018 to August 2022, Roberta held concurrent executive-level roles as the Director of Strategy, Planning and Innovation, and Executive Chief of Staff at the City of Gainesville. In these roles, they provided strategic support and advice to the City Manager, streamlined executive-level work, motivated staff, and implemented innovative solutions to improve city operations.

Before joining the City of Gainesville, Roberta worked at the United States Marshals Service from November 2015 to August 2018. Here they served as the Chief Data Officer and the Chief for the Office of Strategic Insight, leading a cross-functional team to develop solutions for managing risk and delivering data-driven insights.

From May 2013 to November 2015, Roberta worked at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) as the Director of the Division of Analytics, Research, and Evaluation. In this role, they oversaw the day-to-day operations of the analytics division, managed administrative and operational activities, and developed metrics and reporting systems for risk mitigation.

At the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Roberta held two positions. Roberta served as a Senior Risk Analyst from September 2011 to May 2013, where they provided technical analysis and guidance, coordinated planning and resource management, and led teams in developing risk management products. Prior to that, from April 2008 to September 2011, they worked as a Lead Program Analyst, leading strategic planning assessments and contributing to the development of the department's integrated planning guidance.

Throughout their career, Roberta Griffith has demonstrated leadership, expertise in data analysis and risk management, and a strong commitment to improving organizational effectiveness.

Roberta Griffith has a strong educational background in law, public policy, criminal justice, and psychology. Roberta holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Law and Public Policy from Northeastern University, a Master's degree in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Administration from Northeastern University, and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of North Texas.

In addition to their formal education, Roberta has also acquired additional certifications to enhance their skills. These certifications include "SAP S/4 HANA Financial Accounting Overview" obtained from LinkedIn in December 2022, "Power BI Mistakes to Avoid" obtained from LinkedIn in October 2022, and "Power BI Top Skills (2019)" obtained from LinkedIn in October 2022.
