Diego Fainberg

Diego Fainberg is an experienced finance professional currently serving as Partner and Quantitative Portfolio Manager at Galapagos Capital since October 2020, while also holding the title of Partner and Director of Risks and Compliance. Prior to this, Diego worked at Ativa WM as a Portfolio Manager from May 2019 to October 2020, and was a Partner at nfq Advisory | Solutions | Outsourcing, focusing on business development in Brazil from August 2015 to March 2019. Diego's earlier roles include COO at Itaú Asset Management from October 2012 to January 2015, where responsibilities encompassed risk management, portfolio control, and strategic planning, and Head of Business Support from March 2009 to October 2012, managing risk for a substantial portfolio of funds. Diego began the career as a Trader at Itaú Unibanco and has also held positions at Unibanco AIG and BCRA, where responsibilities ranged from trading emerging market sovereign and corporate debts to managing significant investment portfolios. Diego Fainberg holds an MBA in Finance from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business and multiple degrees in Economics from Universidad Torcuato Di Tella.
