Lois Wardell, PhD, is an accomplished engineer and scientist with extensive experience in space operations, technology development, and environmental applications. Currently serving as a STARCOM Liaison and Senior Space T&E Engineer at Galapagos Federal Systems and as Chair of the Women in Space initiative at the Space Force Association, Lois has previously held senior consulting positions, notably at DSoft Technology and KBR, where innovative solutions for the US Air Force were developed. Significant contributions include research in biochar nano-materials at the University of Arizona and leadership roles in unmanned aerial systems and sensor technologies. A robust academic background, with multiple advanced degrees including a PhD in Earth & Environmental Sciences, complements a career path reflecting strong expertise in R&D, technology assessment, and collaborative innovation across various sectors.
