Nick Dermott has held a series of roles in the finance industry. Nick is currently Vice President - Risk Technology at Galaxy since September 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Morgan Stanley as Vice President - Interest Rates Derivatives - Risk and PnL Calculations from June 2017 to September 2022. From 2011 to 2017, Nick was based at J.P. Morgan as a Vice President. Nick began their career in 2006 at Goldman Sachs as a Senior Developer, where they worked until May 2011.
Nick Dermott has a BEng degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Southampton, which they obtained between 1996 and 1999. Nick also holds an MSc degree in Computer Science from UCL, completed between 2000 and 2001. In addition to their degrees, they have obtained certifications in "Algorithms: Design and Analysis, Part 1" from Coursera & Stanford in October 2015, and "Functional Programming Principles in Scala" from Coursera & École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne in December 2014.
