Wang Tao has a diverse work experience in the field of software and control engineering. Starting from 2001, they worked as an Embedded DSP Software Engineer at ShangHai Orda Opto-Electronics Co. LTD. Wang then moved on to ATMEL Semiconductor ShangHai Co where they served as an Embedded Servo Control Firmware Engineer/Project Manager from 2004 to 2006. Wang Tao then joined Concordia University as an Aircraft Control System Researcher from 2007 to 2012.
After that, they worked at McGill University as a UAV Control System Developer from 2012 to 2013, and as an Embedded Control System Developer from 2013 to 2015. Wang then joined SCP SCIENCE as an Embedded Software Developer from 2015 to 2016.
In 2016, Wang Tao started working at Intelligent Fusion Technology as a Robotic System Developer until 2017. Wang then joined AutoModality as an Embedded Control Engineer from 2017 to 2019.
From 2019 to 2021, they worked at Creative Systems and Design as a Senior Embedded Software Engineer. Currently, since 2021, Wang Tao is employed at Galen Robotics as a Software Engineer (Control).
Wang Tao's education history starts with a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Mechatronics from Qingdao University, which they obtained from 1988 to 1992. Wang then pursued a Master's degree in Nonlinear Control, Sliding Mode Control, and Robot Control from Shenyang Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences, with studies from 1994 to 1997. Later on, Wang Tao went to Concordia University, where they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree from 2007 to 2012. Their doctoral research focused on Sliding Mode Control, Fault Tolerant Control, and Aircraft Control. Additionally, Wang Tao obtained the NI Certified LabVIEW Associate Developer (CLAD) certification from National Instruments in May 2014.
