Helena McElmeel is a Principal Architect at Helena McElmeel Architects, a RIAI registered practice since April 2011, focusing on designing low energy and passive homes, bespoke residential developments, commercial and community buildings, urban spaces, and conservation projects. Currently serving as the Chairperson of the RIAI Sustainability Taskforce and a Board Member of the Passive House Association Ireland, Helena also contributes as a member of the Community + Culture Strategic Policy Committee for Galway County Council. Previous roles include Senior Project Architect at Axo Architects and Associate Director at Sean Dockry & Associates, with extensive experience in residential and commercial developments. Helena holds multiple degrees, including a PG Diploma in Project Management from Trinity College Dublin and an MSc in Architecture Advanced Energy & Environmental Studies from the Centre for Alternative Technology, Wales. Additionally, Helena is a Certified Passive House Designer and a WELL AP.
