Fintan Maher

Fintan Maher has extensive work experience in various organizations and roles. Fintan started their career at Barnardo's in 1989 as a Marketing Controller. Fintan then worked as a Category Manager at Slendertone BMR from 1999 to 2004. Following that, they served as the Business Development Manager for Barons Self Storage from 2004 to 2008. Fintan joined COPE Galway in 2008 as the Director of Communication & Development. After that, they held positions at Trócaire, including Head of Community Engagement & Outreach from 2013 to 2014 and Director of Public Engagement from 2014 to 2017. From 2017 to 2020, Fintan worked as the Communications Director for Galway 2020 European Capital of Culture. Currently, they serve as the Head of Fundraising & Communications at Galway Simon Community since 2021.

Fintan Maher pursued their education at the University of Galway, starting in 1987 and completing in 1988. During this time, they obtained an Msc in Marketing Practice with a special focus on Marketing. Prior to that, Fintan had completed a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Politics from the same university.
