Greg Matthews possesses extensive experience in project management and infrastructure development within various government departments, specifically in tourism and sports sectors. From July 2024 to December 2024, Greg served as a Manager at the Games Independent Infrastructure and Coordination Authority. Prior to that, from November 2022 to July 2024, Greg held the position of Manager Olympic Venues at the Department of State Development, Infrastructure, Local Government and Planning. Greg also worked as Projects Manager at the Department of Tourism, Innovation and Sport - State Projects, where responsibilities included investigating and delivering state-led tourism development projects from November 2021 to November 2022. Earlier roles include Principal Project Officer and Senior Advisor within the Department of Tourism, Innovation and Sport and the Department of National Parks, Recreation, Sport and Racing, respectively. Greg earned a Master’s Degree in Business from Deakin University, completing the program in December 2016.

Games Venue and Legacy Delivery Authority
The Games Venue and Legacy Delivery Authority (GVLDA) will ensure Queensland, Australia and Oceania are ready to successfully host the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. We will maximise the opportunity and legacy of hosting the Games, for the benefit of all of Queensland. The Authority will deliver new and upgraded venues for use before, during and long after the Games, as we work towards a more inclusive, sustainable and connected society.
