David Bergin PhD CMPP currently serves as the Vice President of Scientific Affairs and Corporate Strategy at Gamida Cell Ltd. since September 2025. Prior to this role, David held the position of Global Head of Scientific Communications & Medical Affairs Excellence for Global Rare Diseases at Chiesi Group from May 2023 to September 2025. David also worked at Amryt Pharma as the Global Head of Medical Affairs Excellence and of Scientific Communications and Medical Information from May 2020 to May 2023. Between May 2014 and May 2020, David was associated with Novartis, where roles included Global Scientific Communications Associate Director for the Respiratory Franchise and Respiratory Scientific Lead. Prior to this, David was with the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) from July 2005 to April 2014, serving as Associate Lecturer/Senior Postdoctoral Research Fellow and conducting research on therapeutic agents for inflammatory lung diseases. David began academic training at Maynooth University, completing a PhD in Immunology and Microbiology and a BSc (Hons) in Biology.
