Barrie Elgie

Barrie Elgie has extensive experience in the telecommunications industry, currently serving as the UCaaS Ops Technical Lead at Gamma since November 2015, where responsibilities include improving monitoring, maintenance, and operational support for UCaaS and CCaaS offerings, alongside testing and deployment of network changes. Previous roles at Gamma include UCaaS Ops Engineer, IPT Support Engineer, Senior Support Technician, and Customer Support Technician, focusing on technical support and operational management of voice and telecommunication services. Prior to Gamma, Barrie worked in the commercial department at Rob Roy Homes, managing timber frame quotations and IT procurement, and briefly contributed to greenkeeping at Kingsfield Golf Centre. Academic qualifications include a BSc (Hons) in Genetics from the University of Glasgow and research experience as a PhD student at the University of York, specializing in molecular evolution techniques.
