Cher Tate

Cher Tate is the VP, Senior Deputy General Counsel & Chief Counsel, Digital & Privacy at Gannett. Cher has over 20 years of experience as a lawyer, with a focus on digital media and privacy law.

Before joining Gannett, Cher was the Senior Corporate VP and General Counsel at TWI Interactive, Inc., an IMG Company. Cher was responsible for all legal matters at TWI, including corporate governance, litigation, and intellectual property. Cher was with TWI for four years, from December 1998 to December 2002.

Prior to their time at TWI, Cher was the VP, Legal at Stillwater Consulting. Cher also worked as an Associate at Skadden Arps from December 1989 to December 1991.

Cher Tate has a JD from Yale Law School and a BA in Russian Lang & Lit from Harvard University. Cher also has a law degree from Georgetown University Law Center.
