John Paul McDonnall

John Paul McDonnall is an accomplished journalism professional with extensive experience in digital operations and content strategy. Currently serving as the Manager of Digital Operations at Gannett | USA TODAY NETWORK since October 2021, McDonnall previously held multiple editorial roles at The Arizona Republic from 2012 to 2021, including Content Strategy Editor, Digital Planning Editor, Page One Editor, and Night Metro Editor. McDonnall has also contributed to academia as an adjunct professor at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication. With prior experience as a Copy Editor at the Chicago Tribune Media Group and Las Vegas Weekly, as well as significant achievements at Las Vegas Sun, including participation in a Pulitzer Prize-winning project, McDonnall’s career is marked by a strong commitment to journalism excellence and leadership in digital content. McDonnall holds a BA in Journalism and Media Studies from New York University.
