Eelis Orvas

Eelis Orvas has a diverse work experience in the field of IT. Eelis started their career as a Junior Technical Specialist at Gapps in August 2017. From September 2018 to February 2020, they worked as a Technical Consultant, where they provided consulting services for infrastructure and security in Google Cloud Platform. Eelis also led large migration and implementation projects for Google Workspace. Eelis then served as a Cloud Architect at Gapps from February 2020 to September 2022, focusing on Google Cloud Platform infrastructure and security. Eelis gained expertise in Cloud Security Reviews, Technical Compliance Auditing, and deploying full GCP solutions. From September 2022 to May 2023, Eelis worked as a Team Lead & Cloud Architect, leading a team of developers and engineers and being responsible for product development and tooling. Eelis also worked on customer projects, specializing in security, networking, and infrastructure. Currently, they hold the position of Service Lead & Senior Cloud Architect at Gapps, starting in April 2023.

In addition to their experience at Gapps, Eelis Orvas also worked at Asianajotoimisto Ari Orvas as an IT Manager from August 2012 to September 2022. In this role, they managed various IT responsibilities such as hardware and software acquisition, networking, backups, security, workstation configuration, and troubleshooting user issues. Eelis successfully implemented Microsoft 365 after migrating from legacy email systems based on their recommendations.

Furthermore, Eelis worked briefly as a Projectworker at Business Technology Finland Oy from April 2016 to June 2016. In this position, they contributed to a project that involved mapping Swedish and Danish Cloud Service Provider companies.

Eelis Orvas completed their Bachelor of Business Administration - BBA degree from Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences, specializing in the Tietojenkäsittelyn koulutusohjelma field of study. Eelis attended the university from 2014 to 2018.

In addition to their degree, Eelis obtained several certifications from Google. In March 2019, they earned the Professional Cloud Security Engineer certification. In January 2020, they attained the Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud Architect certification. Finally, in June 2021, they obtained the Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer certification.
