Repo Trader

Garda is looking to hire a Repo Trader who will be primarily focused on bond financing transactions across European portfolio, and support bond financing transactions across Asia and North America. This role is based in our Geneva office and will be a part of the Finance & Liquidity (F&L) team and will report to the Head of European Funding. The F&L team is responsible for providing financing and cash management solutions to the funds managed by Garda, and overall relationship management with all of the firm’s trading, financing, and infrastructure counterparties.

Position Responsibilities

• Execute repo transactions to ensure local portfolio is funded consistent with Garda liquidity, counterparty diversification and duration risk tolerances.
• Develop strong relationships with Portfolio Managers and counterparties (regular visit to London).
• Maintain high quality repo execution: economics and relationships.
• Manage the European repo funding profile in collaboration with the head of repo.
• Help create reporting and trading tools to improve execution.
• Watch any legal, settlement, technological development in the European repo space.

Qualifications & Desired Skills

• 4+ years in a repo or repo related role strongly preferred
• Experience executing repo in core, semi-core, and periphery European collateral
• Experience executing repo in G10 Asia, primarily Japan and Australian
• Experience executing repo in North America, primarily the US (both government bonds and mortgages) and Canada
• Detail-oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated attention to detail with ability to independently manage projects/tasks to meet deadlines.
• High-performing individual who has demonstrated they are self-motivated, with a high level of initiative and innovative thinking.
• Ability to work well alone and in a team setting
• Strong Excel skills.
