Tim Magnusson

Founding Partner and Chief Investment Officer at Garda Capital Partners

Tim Magnusson has a strong background in the finance industry with experience in various roles. Tim started their career at Cargill in 1996 as a Fixed Income Trader and Financial Analyst. Tim later became a Fixed Income Trader at the company, working until 2003. From 2003 to 2016, Tim worked at Black River Asset Management LLC as a Senior Portfolio Manager, where they also spent time in the firm's London office. In 2016, Tim co-founded Garda Capital Partners, where they served as a Founding Partner and Senior Portfolio Manager. In 2022, they took on the role of Founding Partner and Chief Investment Officer at Garda Capital Partners.

Tim Magnusson earned their Bachelor's Degree from Central Michigan University between 1990 and 1994. During this time, they pursued a double major in Business and German. Following their undergraduate studies, Tim attended Thunderbird School of Global Management from 1995 to 1996, where they obtained an M.B.A. with a specialization in Finance and German. In 1999, they also received certification as a Chartered Financial Analyst from the CFA Institute.
