Johann Els

Johann Els is an experienced security professional with a diverse background in close protection and intelligence operations. Currently a Security Contractor at AEGIS Defence Services Limited since October 2018, Johann previously held roles as a Close Protection Officer with Physical Risk Solutions, providing security for engineers and divers in Somalia, and with Hart Integrated Solutions for the EUPOL mission in Afghanistan. From 2000 to 2005, Johann served as an Intel Project Manager at Forensic Security Services, focusing on intelligence gathering related to counterfeit cigarette syndicates. Prior experience includes a lengthy tenure with the South African Police Service from 1987 to 2001 in various capacities, including undercover operations in the Crime Intelligence unit. Johann holds a Diploma in Police Administration and a certificate in Close Protection from Secure Minds in the UK.
