Alia Akram is a Barrister at Garden Court Chambers since December 2017. Previously, Alia served as a Pupil Barrister and Squatter at 3 Raymond Buildings from October 2016 to November 2017. Alia's career began at Hickman and Rose, where Alia worked as a Crime Paralegal from July 2014 to June 2016, representing a diverse range of clients in criminal litigation involving violence, financial, and drug offences. Prior to that role, Alia was a Senior Paralegal in the Immigration Department at Bates Wells Braithwaite from June 2012 to July 2014, managing a personal caseload and advising clients on immigration matters. Alia's educational background includes a Bar Professional Training Course from Kaplan Law School and a MA in Jurisprudence from the University of Oxford.
