Julia Knetzer has a comprehensive work experience in the field of art direction and design. Julia started their career as a dance critic for The State Newspaper in 2004 and later worked as a graphic designer at Carolina Productions in 2005. Julia then interned as a design intern at The Durango Herald before joining The Examiner as a designer and travel and fashion editor in 2006. Julia then worked at Outside's Go as an assistant art director and later as an associate art director from 2007 to 2009.
From 2009 to 2011, Julia served as a contributing art director at Zinio Creative Services, during which they also had a brief role as a contributing art director at Field & Stream in 2011. Julia then moved on to Popular Mechanics Magazine and worked as a contributing art director from 2011 to 2013. Their next role was at Fast Company, where they worked as an associate art director from 2013 to 2017.
Julia's most recent position is as an art director at Garden & Gun Magazine, LLC, where they have been working since September 2017. Throughout their career, Julia has gained extensive experience in various roles within the art direction and design field, showcasing their skills and expertise in the industry.
Julia Knetzer attended Irmo High School from 1997 to 2001. Julia then pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism, with a minor in French, from the University of South Carolina from 2001 to 2005. Julia Knetzer was also a part of the South Carolina Honors College during their time at the university, where they excelled in their studies. In 2002, they participated in a summer study abroad program at the Institut de Touraine, focusing on the French language. Additionally, in 2003 and 2004, Julia Knetzer studied abroad at the University of Leeds.
