David W.

David W. currently serves as Vice President of Technology Transfer & Commercialization at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist since October 2022. David has also held various leadership roles, including Associate Vice President and Interim Associate Vice President at Wake Forest Innovations, as well as Interim Executive Director at LSU Innovation Park. Across a distinguished career, David has contributed as Chief Executive Officer and Senior Associate VP of Economic Development & Innovation Alliances at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Research Foundation, and Associate Vice Chancellor for Technology Development and Innovation at North Carolina State University. Additionally, David is involved as a Strategic Advisor for Gardner Innovation Search Partners and a Specialist Reviewer at the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program, which focuses on high-risk, high-impact research funding. Educationally, David holds a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of East Anglia and a Master of Arts from North Carolina State University, along with a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of East Anglia.
