Ray Valdes

Ray Valdes is a seasoned technology professional and thought leader with extensive experience in emerging technologies and trends, currently serving as a Research VP Analyst at Gartner since August 2022, focusing on generative AI, blockchain, Web3, the metaverse, smart cities, digital twin, and tokenomics. Previously, Valdes co-founded FutureSense, a Seoul-based technology venture specializing in enterprise blockchain solutions. Valdes held the position of CTO at ConsenSys, where work involved transforming enterprises through blockchain technologies. Valdes has a substantial history at Gartner, including roles as Research Vice President and Gartner Fellow, and has contributed significantly to the understanding of blockchain and cryptocurrency. Earlier career experiences include leadership roles in software development, engineering, and content management at various technology-driven organizations. Valdes holds a Master’s degree in Visual Studies from Goddard and a B.A. from Bucknell University.
