Nayan Bhattacharyya

Nayan Bhattacharyya has a diverse work experience. Nayan started as a Contact Centre Co-worker at IKEA Group in 2011 and later became a Contact Centre Team Leader, where they were responsible for restructuring the IKEA Contact Centre and managing a team of 10 co-workers. Nayan also handled daily operations of IKEA's third-party home delivery provider and dealt with fair trading complaint handling and marketing/social media communication. In 2015, they joined the University of Sydney as a Casual Academic and later took on roles as a Research Assistant and Postgraduate Student Ambassador. In 2019, they joined the Centenary Institute as a Research Officer before moving to their current role as a Research Officer at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research in 2021.

Nayan Bhattacharyya began their education at Parramatta Marist High School from 2005 to 2010, where they completed their Higher School Certificate. Nayan then went on to study at the University of Sydney from 2011 to 2014, earning a Bachelor of Medical Science with Honours I and the University Medal in the field of Immunology. Continuing their academic journey, Nayan pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) at the University of Sydney from 2015 to 2020, specializing in Medicine.
