Viviane Richter

Viviane Richter has a diverse work experience in the fields of communications, marketing, and science. Viviane currently works as a Communications Manager at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research since March 2023. Prior to this, they were a Marketing and Communications Officer - Science at the same institute starting from December 2018.

Viviane also has experience as a Freelance Writer for Nature Publishing Group since February 2016 and Cosmos Magazine from February 2016 to November 2016. Viviane also worked as a Staff Reporter and an Intern at Cosmos Magazine from January 2015 to February 2016 and from November 2014 to January 2015, respectively.

Viviane has worked in the education sector as well. Viviane worked as a Laboratory Demonstrator (casual) at La Trobe University from 2011 to 2014. Additionally, they worked as a Research Assistant at the University of New South Wales from May 2008 to August 2008 under Dr. Angela Finch, where they were involved in tasks such as cell culturing, assay optimization, and updating MSDS/SOP documentation.

In 2018, they briefly worked as a Manager for the Australian Museum Eureka Prizes from April 2018 to October 2018. Prior to this, they served as an Engagement Manager at Biomedical Research Victoria from July 2016 to April 2018.

Viviane Richter received their Bachelor's degree in Pharmacology (Honours) from UNSW, which they pursued from 2005 to 2009. Viviane then went on to complete their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biochemistry, Biophysics, and Molecular Biology from La Trobe University, which they accomplished between 2010 and 2014.
